1. Gather Your Tools and Materials

· Applicator (brush, cotton swabs, or small spatula)
· Tissue or paper towels (for wiping off excess products)
· Adhesive remover (for later use)
· Scalp protector or barrier (for scalp protector)
· Hair system protector (e.g., a mesh cap or bandana for sleep)
· Mirror(s) (preferably a handheld mirror and a full-length mirror for better visibility)
· Clips or headband (to secure your natural hair back if needed)
2. Clean and Prepare Your Scalp
A clean, dry scalp is key for a strong bond. It also helps your skin feel comfortable in the hair system.
a. Wash and Dry Your Scalp:
· Wash your scalp with a gentle shampoo to remove oils, dirt, and sweat. Don’t use conditioner, which may interfere with adhesive bonding.
· Dry your scalp thoroughly with a towel. Make sure there is no moisture left before applying adhesive.
b. Shave or Trim:
·In order to create a clean surface for the adhesive, you usually need to shave any short hair. This makes it easier to position the hair system and blend it naturally.
·For long hair, pull it back and secure it. This keeps it away from the area where you'll apply the hair system.
c. Apply a Scalp Protector or Barrier:

3. Prepare the Hair System
Before applying the adhesive, make sure your hair system is ready.
a. Clean the Hair System:
· If it’s a used hair system, clean the base by removing any old adhesive or residue. Use a product like C-22 solvent to dissolve the old adhesive.
· Rinse and dry the hair system thoroughly to ensure it’s clean.
b. Check Fit and Adjust:
· Place the system on your head, and check for any adjustments to make regarding the fit or positioning. Before apply toupee tape or glue, it’s essential to make sure where you want the system to sit on your scalp.
4. Apply Adhesive (Tape or Glue)
a. If Using Toupee Tape:
· Cut Tape Strips: Cut tape strips to fit the hair system edge. Smaller pieces for the hairline, and larger strips for the rest of the scalp.
· Tape to the Hair System: Apply the tape strips on the base of hair system. Avoid the hair strands. Press tape strip down to avoid air bubbles.
· Peel Off the Backing: After the tape is on the hairpiece, carefully peel off the backing to expose the glue.
b. If Using Hair System Glue:
